Provide funds to repair and maintain the African American Civil War Soldiers Memorial Museum on U Street, Washington,DC

The history of the participation of African Americans in the Civil War is an important part of the important story of the United States of America. It has been neglected or not accurately told. Dr. Frank Smith, Founder and Organizer of the Civil War Museum honoring the role of African American soldiers during the Civil War, needs funds to assist in the repair and maintenance of this important institution. It was deliberately vandalized and will require significant dollars to repair. This petition is to ask for a significant contribution to help defray the cost of repair and to have funds to continue to maintain the museum.
