With advance knowledge in genetic engineering, we could create things that were long ago impossible to exist.
Examples include:
Creatures like Pokémon and Creepers could be used for wars instead of expensive and dangerous nuclear weaponry
A new multimillion industry could be made in breeding and selling animals we've dreamed of as kids.
We could bring back extinct species and make current ones more appealing
So in my opinion, as long as no one creates a Slenderman, genetics needs more attention by scientists.
