To provide a goal for NASA to return to the moon.

Created by A.F. on January 25, 2013

On July 20th 1969, two men landed on the lunar surface, and for the first time, mankind had ventured beyond it's own planet and walked upon another celestial body. However, mankind has not walked the lunar surface since 1972.

NASA should have a goal to return man to the moon. An endeavor such as this would provide an excellent opportunity for further research, such as:

-- Exploring possible technologies to benefit a future mission to a near-earth asteroid and to Mars.

--Allowing a new generation an opportunity to prepare for future deep space ventures with the added security of having a crew closer to home.

--Looking into additional needs for lunar exploration, and allowing for additional research into long-term human settlement in space.
