Tornado Alley is so named for a reason, not because it experiences a few tornadoes a year, but because on average one thousand tornadoes tear trough this part of the country. So why hasn't there been anything done to better protect the people that live here? It's time the government stepped up and provided the funding necessary to build FEMA certified storm shelters across these states. We can't prevent these storms, so unless we prepare for them, we are going to face tragedies like the one on May 20th, 2013 for years to come. It's time for action.
