Provide incentives to media outlets, proportional to audience and operating cost, that practice unbiased news journalism

Created by W.B. on March 10, 2016

The current U.S. mainstream media landscape is a minefield of biased, editorial "news entertainment" that furthers agendas of advertisers, financiers, & the journalists themselves. While the U.S. should encourage free enterprise & protect free press, even biased press, many Americans like myself believe these outlets simply dumb down important issues, make villains of those with alternate views, & pit citizens against each other by providing them echo chambers in which their perceived reality is not challenged or cultivated by fact - they are reinforced by opinions of peer groups & biased journalists who are mistaken for curators of facts. I propose an audience/operating cost-proportional incentive for any outlet wishing to deliver unbiased, purely factual news information within the U.S.
