Stop age discrimination. The rough economy took a toll on retirement savings and pensions, and has brought people out of retirement looking for stable positions to supplement their income. Too many 50+ year olds out of work are not able to retire yet and are finding it near impossible to find a good job. Businesses fear hiring anyone over 50 due to the higher cost to insure them. The EOC slogan posted on company websites is rarely enforced.
Baby boomers have much to contribute and want to work. Most of us are still viable and technically savvy. Please provide incentives to U.S. companies to hire 50+ year old workers in the same way it gives preference to and helps veterans find work. For those who are able - help us keep our aging society working and off social welfare programs.
