The video game market is projected to be $81B by 2016. I'm certain that a large portion of that projected dollar amount may be lost due to cyber crimes that disrupt the business. The amount of time, manpower and money required to track these cyber crimes can put a huge dent in the profit that these companies and our country would gain. I propose that legislation be put in place that enforces companies to require a SSN to be tied to user account creation, such that if a user in a game or commits a cyber crime, they can be held legally liable for their actions. Countries in Asia currently have similar policies. Please take the time to do the research and get a better understanding of how a profitable market that is beneficial to the country could be better protected by our government.
