Provide longer paid maternity leave for new mothers (we are one of the country's with the worst maternity leave)

Women that have children today in the US are forced to return to work very quickly and must be able to recuperate and find daycare for their infants very soon after birth. The United States is one of the worst countries when it comes to maternity leave. Women should have the option to stay home longer than a mere 6 weeks in order to raise their infants and ensure they are well cared for in the significant months after birth.
