Provide a marker for the site of the assassination of President Garfield.

Of the four presidents who died as a result of an assassination attempt, three of them have markers to indicate the site of where that assassination took place. President James A. Garfield is the only one without a marker.
I am a firm believer that presidential history, assassinations included, are a vital part of our American story, and should be treated as such. Although Garfield was only president for a short time, he had a much deeper and profound impact on the United States that expanded beyond his presidency. It is important we memorialize the site where he was mortally wounded, so that people who encounter the site, located in the National Mall, can understand the profoundness of what happened there.
