Over the course of 30 days, ending February 19th, Boston was hit by 93.2 inches of snow, crippling the city and those surrounding it. The city of Boston has spent $35 million on snow removal so far, more than twice what was budgeted. However, the effects of this snow removal have been negligible. The T is not running, multiple lanes are closed on most roads, and snow banks tower high enough to make any and every intersection a hazard. Local businesses are suffering, along with all of the workers, who have no way to get to work due to public transit not functioning.
