The U.S. needs to provide aid, support and protection for Christians in Iraq, where the pullout of U.S. troops has created a power vacuum, allowing The Islamic State, a terrorist offshoot of al Qaida, to commit wholesale genocide—religious cleansing—against the Christian population. In Mosul, where Christians have had a significant presence for nearly two thousand years, Christian homes and other properties are being seized, and Christians have been told they must leave the region, pay an exorbitant tax or face death. Adding insult to injury, those Christians fleeing the growing violence are being robbed of their personal possessions. Christians are flooding Iraq's northern provinces, already home to more than two million refugees.
