Members of the US Military Special Forces commit to the most rigorous training and dangerous missions in service of the country. The toll on body and home life are extreme and in recognition of their exceptional abilities and service, they should be accorded retirement benefits that reflect the extreme demands placed upon them.
This issue is well illustrated in the recent article describing the retirement of a Navy SEAL: http://cironline.org/theshooter
Our country's best deserve better. God bless them all.
Possible recommendation:
10yrs special forces = 30% base + medical + 1yr ed/training
15yr special forces = 70% base + medical + 2yr ed/training
20yr special forces = full military pension
