Provide More Funding to African American Neighborhoods of Detroit

Created by B.K. on December 11, 2014

Detroit needs help! While the city's financial collapse in recent years has been all over the news, the racial disparities between the African American and white populations has gone relatively unnoticed. Although all the inhabitants of Detroit have been suffering, African Americans are more underprivileged from a lack of institutional stability and educational resources than whites. As African American residents of Detroit continue to suffer, and Detroit's government remains unable to provide aid, it is time for the federal government to step in to fund public works projects and allocate money to the public school system that will improve the lives of many African Americans and spark the rebirth of the city of Detroit.
