Art and Music programs in schools are often the first to lose funding or be eliminated. Yet, these programs have been shown to increase test scores and improve memory and concentration, leading to academic gains. Music education encourages creativity, dedication, and teamwork, and it's importance should not be diminished. Music should be given the same precedence as core classes, because the benefits of being in music are widespread.
