As the digital economy booms, many Americans are unqualified for job opportunities in information technology. Lack of exposure, access, and training in technology for adults that are entering the workforce or transitioning from non-technical industries are barriers to entry that can be overcome with targeted programs and funding opportunities. We ask the Obama Administration to support legislation that ensures that major procurement contracts for technology related services contain riders that allow or give preference to companies that provide entry level access, training, exposure, and professional development for technology related skill sets.
