provide paid maternity leave to mothers in the US. The US is the only developed country without it. Lets change that!

On June 24th 2014 Tampa Bay Times reported that... Obama claimed, "The United States is the only developed country in the world without paid maternity leave." I think with this in mind we should provide women with paid maternity leave so that no family has to suffer during a time that is meant to be joyful. Unpaid leave promotes stress for families and an increased risk in postpartum depression. Many families also become behind on bills causing families to become indebted. I think providing paid leave will dramatically reduce stress for families, promote healthier living and also reduce debt in the united states.
