provide the people with the ability to control the salaries of federal elected officials.

Created by E.S. on August 27, 2012

Federal officials vote on there own salaries, base pay, caps, and extras. These items should be controlled through a vote by the people.

Quote: "Congress has now voted itself a total of $16,700 in raises over the last six years. Since 1990, congressional pay has increased from $98,400 to $154,700 in 2003." By Longley in 2004. The average American salary is $41,673.83 (2010), the base 2012 congressional salary is $174,000. Or congressional pay increased $75,600 and American workers increase $20,645.

Let support H.R.4399, and add a clause that requires the American people to vote on future increases. Everyone needs to have a boss that they answer to. Elected officials should not be in control of their own salaries and benefits.
