Marissa Alexander is a mother of 3 children, w/an MBA, serving TWENTY years because she wanted to save her life. Convicted, by a jury of 6, on 3 counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon with no intent to harm. She had no criminal record.
Her husband had a documented history of violence & abuse toward women. The history of Marissa & her husband includes an injunction for protection against violence which was active during the incident.
He assaulted, shoved, strangled & held her against her will.
She was not able to call 911, she fired the shot INTO THE AIR, to warn him off.
