Not every household can homeschool and provide for a family, it is the governments job to provide a safe educatioal enviroment in public schools. With all the talk of job creation, why hasn't the thought of increasing annual funds towards creating more jobs within law enforcement specificly aimed at child protection in schools? Teachers and parents can only do so much. By the time first responders arive to school violence requiring their attention it's typically too late for some innocent person. We want the government to protect our children. Preventing any weapons from entering schools should be a priority for obvious reasons of child safety, but it will also create more jobs for needed personel on many fronts as well as act as a preventice measure to lawsuits from loss of life.
