provide relief to individuals who have student loan debt.

Created by B.P. on November 11, 2012

Due to the uncontrolled costs of education, combined with the necessity of obtaining a degree to succeed, an increasing number of United States citizens are suffering from insolvency. We hereby petition the President of the United States to act, by executive order or by cooperation with Congress, to assume responsibility of all student loans for graduates of four-year colleges and universities, as well as graduate level programs, who have achieved an accredited degree (bachelor's, master's, doctorate, juris doctor, etc.) on or before December 31, 2016. These loans would then be paid by the federal government in full satisfaction of the amounts owed. The goal is to alleviate debt in the lower and middle classes, thus increasing spending and stimulate the struggling economy.
