Everyone deserves to be treated with respect and understanding. Children here have wonderful lives compared to those in third world countries, but having food, shelter, and clothes does not constitute a good life. Many teens feel trapped by restrictive and abusive parents. Those who are strong enough power through until their adult years, when they are able to remove themselves from their parents. Those who are not take a much more drastic path. In fact, suicide is one of the leading causes of teen death in America. Current help methods are call only or require parents to be aware of such programs. Please provide safe places for abused children to go to in order to have someone to talk to, get help, or stay the night. Abused children are a minority, but they should not be ignored.
