Miami Dade College has lost millions of dollars in funding that had been allocated for teaching English to immigrants. Many of the current immigrants and residents are only able to complete a part of their English language study programs before their funds run out; then they simply don't have the funds to continue studying English, not to mention continuing to study for a bachelor or master degree. These immigrants simply have to work at low-paying jobs which will never provide them with the funds that needs to finish their eduation. Every year when the summer semester at the college rolls around, students have insufficient funds to continue their education and are forced to wait until the fall semester to continue. It's time to give our future citizens what they need for success.
