A recently leaked document, posted via WikiLeaks, has revealed a draft of an international trade agreement that has been in the works for several years. Provisions of this agreement would create stricter IP laws and allow for expanded rights regarding copyright enforcement. This agreement heavily favors established Technology, Entertainment, and Pharmaceutical companies by giving them stricter control and enforcement of their Intellectual Properties. In effect, many of the controversial provisions of SOPA and ACTA are still being actively pursued. This needs to be brought to an open forum for discussion and debate. This agreement can have a major effect on Consumer Rights regarding Intellectual Properties. It needs to be publicly discussed, not worked on behind closed doors.
