Provide Universal Health Care - How can one of the wealthiest countries not provide healthcare to its people.

Created by T.L. on November 27, 2011

"We the People" sounds good...as long as you don't get sick. How can our neighbors to the North be taxed almost the same as the US and provide healthcare for their citizens. The average American family spends $5 000 - $14 000 per year just to have healthcare! This is crazy! We should create a Federal Tax, and have this money be used to pay for a Universal Healthcare Program, where all people would beneifit. All citizens (regardless of their wages) would then be contributing to the healthcare program. The insurance companies and doctors need to be "capped" as they are making huge profits because of the need for health care. There will always be a need for health care, so something in the US really needs to be changed.
