It is important for the United States Government to take immediate actions to support combat veterans transitioning into civilian life. Additionally, states should recognize the training and experiences in which these men and women have received from the military and grant state recognized certifications and/or waivers to these individuals seeking employment as a first responder. Those who performed duties such as military police, firefighters, and emergency medical personal.
It is a complete waste of funding to train individuals to perform duties recognized by the government; however, those same individuals do not meet state requirements and/or certifications, making them ineligible for jobs as Police, Fire, or EMT when leaving the military service.
