Provide a yearly tax rebate for driving a fuel efficient vehicle

Created by J.E. on November 13, 2012

Please pass a bill to provide a yearly tax rebate for driving and not just buying fuel efficient vehicles. It will encourage people to drive fuel efficient vehicles and reward them in the process. If this works it will save fuel in case of war while bringing gas prices down and helping people get through the economy. It should also encourage growth in the auto industry while getting rid of the gas guzzlers.Provide a higher tax rate for the oil companies and/or even use tax collected from the pumps and use that tax to give rebates to the people with registered and insured fuel efficient vehicles limit ?.This will allow $ saved on fuel to be spent on other things creating jobs.
ie. Start at 30mpg=$150, 32mpg=$160, 40mpg=$200etc up to 50mpg using the epa estimated hwy mileage on fuel economy.gov
