This is a petition requesting that the White House, on the behest of President Obama, make a public declaration regarding Kiera Wilmot, a student at Bartow High School in Florida, guaranteeing that she will receive an immediate Presidential Pardon if the state attorneys general of Florida continue to persecute her on racist grounds for daring to engage in scientific research and discovery
The persecution of Kiera Wilmot stifles science in the same way that the persecution of the L'Aquila scientists in Italy has in that country and will serve to dissuade children, especially children of disadvantaged ethnicities, from continuing in science. It threatens her with enormous consequences for legitimate curiosity and research. The White House must take a stand for science and against racism.
