The first amendment prohibits the abridging of freedom of speech or freedom of the press. Any definition of the press that limits it to individuals under the pay of large corporations would abridge both freedoms. I am asking our President to publically censure and humiliate Senator Dianne Feinstein and any other member of the Senate who thinks that the media shield law should apply only to "real reporters" to the exclusion of independent reporters and bloggers who are unfettered by corporate interests.
