I am writing in support of House of Representatives (H.R.) bill 2254, Law Enforcement Officers Equity Act. This bill was sponsored by Congressman Peter Pete King [R-NY2] and referred to the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform on May 12, 2015. This bill would amend the definition of a law enforcement officer under subchapter III of chapter 83 and chapter 84 of title 5, United States Code and give those who meet the law enforcement officer definition the ability to retire after twenty (20) years of service at the age of fifty (50), or twenty-five (25) years of service at any age.
Provide our Federal Law Enforcement Officers the equity they have earned with their unwavering service to our nation.
