The Armenian Genocide has been a long standing issue for almost 100 years. 1.5 million Armenians were murdered by the Young Turks during the 1915's due to the want to create a "pure" nation with only Turkish people. Death marches and massacres were some of the numerous methods of elimination. Those who committed these atrocities have not faced justice and those affected have not had closure and compensation for the death of their families and the loss of possessions.
