publicly address the police brutality against Occupy protesters in New York and in Oakland.

Created by M.L. on October 27, 2011

The growing Occupy movement continues to meet resistance from police authorities. That resistance has led to extreme violence against civilians beaten and attacked with pepper spray in New York. It has targeted 24 year old veteran Scott Olsen, struck at a protest in Oakland by a tear gas can and hospitalized for brain swelling and a skull fracture. If President Obama wants to earn a mandate from the voting public in 2012, he must address these injustices perpetrated by police forces against American citizens. The 99% are protesting disparities in power and privilege between the complacent rich and the underclasses. President Obama, you praised "the passion and dignity" of those fighting against corrupted power in Egypt last spring. You said, "We hear your voices." Do you hear us now?
