We, the undersigned, wish to hear directly from President Obama on the situation with United States Marine Sergeant Andrew Tahmooressi who is currently being held by Mexican authorities for a minor charge of possession of firearms.
This minor offense, committed by accident, deserves acknowledgement, and response by the Obama administration.
This Marine honorably served two combat deployments and suffers from PTSD. During his detainment in Mexico, he has been treated inhumanely, which in one instance, resulted in a neck wound requiring hospitalization.
The administration moved mountains and negotiated with terrorists to free a known deserter, but has yet to make any stance known on this dedicated Marine who simply made an error.
