publicly advocate open source ( General Public License ) election systems

Created by B.T. on January 29, 2014

The mission of the California Association of Voting Officials is to develop and make available open source voting systems for use in public elections, as well as to provide training, education and management practices to election officials for the effective employment of technologies. The development of secure and transparent voting systems is essential to the future of our country. Open source voting systems have been demonstrated as more secure and less expensive.

California legislation that took effect January 1st 2014 removes burdensome barriers for getting new systems developed, tested, certified, and ready to use.

CAVO, working with community members and election officials, exists to aid in the effort toward this solution, www.cavo-us.org
