Publicly apologize to the American People for a misuse of Presidential power in displaying a rainbow on The White House.

Created by A.O. on June 29, 2015

On June 26, 2015, the Obama Administration chose to disrespect an American symbol and misrepresent many of the American People.

This petition is not about the Supreme Court's decision to legalize gay marriage in the United States. Instead, it seeks a public apology from the Obama Administration for their presumptuous display of rainbow lighting on The White House, a symbol of American democracy.

The White House stands "as a symbol of the Presidency, the United States government, and the American people." It is not just the President's house. It is the People's house and should not be used as a billboard for Presidential opinion.

For these actions We, the People, seek formal recognition of this misuse of power in the form of a public apology.
