On the 23rd of September, 2014 President Obama exited Marine One in Manhattan at the Wall Street Landing with a coffee cup in hand, saluting two Marines Guards positioned at the bottom of the steps hold the perfect salute to the commander in chief. The Commander in Chief rendered a salute with a disposable coffee cup in hand. The salute is a sign of honor and respect, neither of which President Obama showed his Marine Guards with this salute, as well as disrespecting all the men and women in uniform and veterans. The Commander in Chief has the ability to, and is now sending our uniformed forces into combat, and should show respect with this small gesture. If a person cannot perform the salute properly,(maybe the hands are carrying something) the best thing is to not salute at all.
