Publicly denounce and withold funding from the Russian government in light of its stance against LGBT individuals.

The United States of America is a country that believes in an individual's right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness regardless of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or otherwise. Throughout our history we have fought against discrimination to ensure these rights are preserved for all. The recent passage of legislation in Russia criminalizing the Russian LGBT community and its supporters has led to their condoned discrimination and violent attacks against them. Through its continued financial support of Russia, the United States is effectively supporting the discrimination and violence towards the Russian LGBT community. We call upon the government to denounce this treatment of LGBT individuals and to revoke funding to Russia until this legislation is overturned.
