Publicly endorse the repeal and replacement of the 2nd Amendment of the Constitution.

Gun violence and mass shootings have reached epidemic levels and it is time that the United States of America joined many of our allies in banning the personal ownership of firearms. The Second Amendment, as interpreted by current jurisprudence, poses a significant threat to public safety, resulting in tens of thousands of deaths each year. We hereby petition the President to draft, support, and propose to Congress legislation that would repeal the 2nd Amendment and replace it with language banning personal gun ownership. Trained state militia members would be allowed to posses one service firearm. Closing corporate tax loopholes would provide funding to compensate owners for the government takings associated with the seizure of firearms owned by private citizens.
