The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has recently submitted purchases for 1.6 billion rounds of ammunition (including hollow point rounds), assault rifles, and heavily armored personnel carriers.
The purchase of such weapons by a domestic security force is very disturbing. We petition the White House to start an open dialog to discuss the need for the purchases.
