Publicly fund elections to end corporate influence.

Created by J.H. on October 24, 2011

Publicly fund elections, giving all candidates from all parties equal funding. End corporate supported negative political advertising.
The government should publish one document before each election with information from every person running for office in every party or independently stating their platform, profile, and voting record if applicable.
All broadcast, print and internet news media should be required to give equal time to all candidates in all parties for a statement of position and debate. No private advertising.
No corporate interests would be involved, no donations. This would solve the problem of corporate influence in elections, and level the playing field for all political viewpoints.
This would also allow people who are not wealthy to run for office.
