Publicly support an amendment to U.S. Constitution to strengthen Fifth Amendment Rights and overturn Salinas v. Texas

Created by T.P. on June 23, 2013

We disagree with the recent Supreme Court decision Salinas v. Texas, 12-246. In this case, a defendant's silence was used as evidence of guilt, because it technically happened before his official arrest. The question "Is your gun the murder weapon?" was clearly asked to obtain incriminating evidence. Citizens of the US should be free to ignore police questioning without fear of repercussion. Therefore we ask for the White House's public support and assistance to pass a constitutional amendment to strengthen the rights of all Americans under the Bill of Rights and overrule Salinas v. Texas.
