The U.S. Congress no longer serves the people. Our representatives place reelection above all other priorities. Their success at retaining their positions despite extremely low approval rates speaks to their success at marketing and not their ability legislate. Each representative becomes dependent on relationships with special interest groups and private industry donors to be capable of "out marketing" their opponent.
The citizens require support from our president to shine a spotlight on this issue. Congress will not self-impose term limits. To accomplish this goal, an Article V Convention must be demanded by state legislatures. Without national level news media coverage of our president speaking on this matter, this goal will never be realized. President Obama, lend us your voice!
