Publicly support a monument honoring President John Adams in Washington, D.C.

Of all the beautiful monuments honoring great Americans in Washington, D.C., there isn't a bigger omission than John Adams. Contributions by George Washington and Thomas Jefferson (both of whom have awe-inspiring monuments in the capital) to the founding of the United States are equaled only by John Adams. A champion of liberty and justice, Mr. Adams defended British troops against charges of murder when it wasn't advantageous to his career ambitions. During the Continental Congress, he called for independence from Great Britain against vehement opposition. As president, Adams skillfully avoided what would have been a disastrous war for the young nation with England or France. Sans John Adams, America would be a far different place. He deserves to be honored like Washington and Jefferson.
