Satisfaction with members of congress is at an all time low. It is clear that congressmen and women are more interested in catering to corporate interests than in listening to their constituents. Rather than using political will to enact legislation that would positively affect our society, congress legislates with self-preservation as its primary motivation. Without term limits, members of congress are allowed to accrue enough power and money to make it nearly impossible for a challenger to unseat an incumbent. With term limits in place, members of congress would have to run on the strength of their ideas, convictions, and mandate from the people.
