Unlike auto, life, and property, the sale of health care insurance across state lines is against federal law.
This exemption causes unnatural esclation of prices due to the lack of competition.
Changing this law would allow large groups, such as veterans groups, unions, and others to vastly increase the size of the membership in a purchasing group, thus helping them get large reductions in premium costs.
