The President is requesting that Congress give "Fast Track" approval to the proposed Trans Pacific Partnership agreement, yet the draft proposal is has been kept secret from citizens and Congress. Previous leaked drafts suggest the TPP affects many areas of international trade, including Copyright enforcement, environmental standards, and worker protections for domestic and foreign workers.
Thus, the President wants fast approval of a law that our representatives can not freely read and debate. Currently, members of Congress can read the draft, but not share it with their staffs or constituents.
Worse, corporate lobbyists have been deeply involved in drafting this agreement; so it seems very likely to be biased in their favor.
This is not the way to make law in a Democracy.
