Puerto Rico has been a United States territory since 1898. The people of Puerto Rico have taken many polls and has majorly pointed towards the populous in favor of Statehood. The next step in this process is congress to make the decision. Puerto Rico is represented by a non-voting Resident Commissioner in the United States House of Representatives. These people deserve proper representation in government.
