In the Korean conflict (1950-1953) approx. 278 soldiers from Puerto Rico were killed in action. Since then thousands more have died protecting the Constitution of the United States. But, Puerto Rican veterans living on the island are denied the right to vote for the President their Commander-in-Chief.
It is imperative that the U.S. recognize this injustice and ensure that we do not continue to deny American Veterans the Constitutional rights so valiantly defended. To form a more perfect union we must especially honor all of those who sacrifice for us in war. Therefore, we petition President Obama to enact the "Puerto Rican Veterans Voting Rights Act," and give P.R veterans and their immediate family members the right to vote for the President of the United States.
