Punish James Clapper (Director of National Intelligence) for lying to Congress

Created by A.S. on August 13, 2013

In an NBC interview, Clapper admitted committing perjury before Congress when he answered Senator Wyden's question "Does the NSA collect any type of data at all on millions or hundreds of millions of Americans?" with "No sir." He was provided the questions in advance, so any claims that he failed to understand this extremely clear and straightforward question are not credible.

We petition the White House to instruct the Department of Justice to pursue Clapper as it would anyone with less political influence who committed this crime. If government officials can commit felonies in public and be rewarded for them, how is this government "for the people"?
