In a situation where there is DNA evidence, a confession or no doubt that a pedophile or child murderer has committed a crime, they should be put to death.
There is no excuse to harm a child. The people that do so should be treated as non-human individuals: no God-given rights, no appeals, no rehabilitation, no lengthy prison sentence. Simply end their life.
This would act as a deterrent, at the very least.
When an adult hurts another adult the question of 'evil' is left to interpretation on a case-by-case basis. However, for an adult that sexually abuses a child to the point of brain damage or death, there is no question: That person is evil and should not be given any 'unalienable rights'. He or she would forfeit those rights by comiting the crime.
