I have noticed that many petitions exist that ask for their state to secede from the Union and form its own country. There would be many consequences following this... If any state does secede from the United States, they will leave themselves vulnerable to attack from Foreign Nations because they are not guarenteed protection anymore. If any state does attempt to leave the United States it could not only cause the US Economy to crumble, but the World's Economy also... we learned that from 9/11.
What I don't understand about these petitions is why would everyone want to secede from the United States. If our country's problems can't be solved then don't leave it... DO SOMETHING. We based our country off the Theory of Government on Consent of the Government.
